Eugene "Gene" Finley, 83, of Leachville, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Randolph County, he was the son of the late Dawson and Della Jackson. He was a retired farmer and had lived most of his life in Leachville. Mr. Finley was a member of the Leachville United Methodist Church and was an Army Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by a brother, R.D. Jackson of Leachville; four sisters, Zelma Keith of Leachville, Nadine Weir of St. Louis, Fern Woodsmall of Wappapella, Mo., and Claudine Sparks of Jonesboro; a granddaughter, Kim Kegley, and a great-granddaughter, Lauren Kegley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Monteen Finley and his son, Gerald Wayne Finley.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.
The family has requested that anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Leachville United Methodist Church.
