Mona Lee Armstrong - Lake City

Mona Lee Armstrong, 66, of Lake City, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at the Cordova Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Cordova, Tenn. Born in Lake City, she was a retired school teacher for the Norwalk-Lamirada Unified School District in Los Angeles, Calif., and was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include a daughter, Patti McDaniel, of Memphis; a sister, Elizabeth Kamp, of North Little Rock; two brothers, J.Q. Armstrong, Jr., and Oliver Armstrong, both of Lake City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.Q. Armstrong, Sr., and Elsie Armstrong; and a brother.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Bowman Cemetery near Lake City with Dennis Neeman officiating. Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the American Heart Association, The Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
