Elsie Mae Denton, 64, of Manila, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at the Manila Nursing Center in Manila. Born at Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Linne Whitecotton Deeds and had been a Manila resident since 1947.
She is survived by her husband, James Denton of the home; a son, Jimmy Denton of Manila; a daughter, Sandra Ball of Dyess; two brothers, Leroy Deeds of Ft. Smith and Sherman Deeds of Keiser; three sisters, Hilda Tuttle of Kansas, Imolene Lee of Paris and Velda Britton of Manila; four grandchildren, Johnny Denton, Bobby Ball, Everett Ball and Josh Ball.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jr. and Manues Deeds and two sisters, Geneva Sivage and Vestalee Woods.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
