Bobby Gean Pierce - Manila

Bobby Gean Pierce, 68, of Manila, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Blytheville. Born at Manila, he was the son of the late Dorsie and Cordie Johnson Pierce and had been a lifelong Manila resident. A retired truck driver, he served his country in the U.S. Navy and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by a son, Steven Pierce of Edwardsville, Ill.; two brothers, Wayne Pierce of Manila and Jerry Pierce of Metairie, La.; three sisters, Betty Hill of Manila, Juanita Foster of Peoria, Ill., and Sue White of Warren, Ohio, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Emzie, Marvin, T.J. and Cleo Pierce.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
