William Eugene "Buck" Harbin, formerly of Monette (Turkey Run Community), died Aug. 1, 2002, at his home in Fresno, Calif. Services were held in Fresno.
He was the son of the late Marvin and Agnes Harbin of Monette.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. Stanley Harbin, and a daughter, Linda Block.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Distinguished Air Medal. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masonic Lodge of Fresno. He worked in commercial construction in a supervisory capacity until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the Carpenters Union.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin Harbin of Portersville, Calif., and John Harbin of Fresno; four sisters, Anna Brown of Jonesboro, Martha Sue Kyzer of Bebee, Beatrice B. Burnett of Dardanelle and Leona McWhirter of Lake Charles, La.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
