"Good Luck Party" set for Brian Stallings
Friends of the Stallings family are hosting a "Good Luck Party" for Brian Stallings from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Caraway Masonic Lodge.
Brian Stallings, a 2002 graduate of Riverside High School, along with his parents, Kenny and Patricia Stallings, are preparing to relocate to the St. Louis area where Brian will begin the process preparing him to undergo a lung transplant.
He is now at the top of the lung transplant list and must live near the hospital to ensure that he will be there when a donor match becomes available.
The family will be moving the first weekend in August. Kenny will be able to transfer with his company so a job awaits him there. Brian's mother will be able to stay at home with him.
Brian was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at a very young age and the family has been through some very challenging times through the years.
"The party is a way of letting the family know that our prayers and good wishes are going with them," Lesia Couch said.
Refreshments will be served.
Everyone is invited and Couch said they are asking people to bring a card or a small gift.
"We want to prepare a basket for the cards and small gifts so the family can have at least one card a day to open for their first 90 days they are there. The words of encouragement in the cards will help them to know that we are thinking of them. Also, if anyone would like to add money so the family can have a pizza dinner or go to a movie, or a gift card to be used," Couch said. "It will be hard for Brian to be away from his lifelong friends and the cards will give him something from home."
