Ribbon cutting ceremonies and open house for the new city hall in Lake City were held Monday afternoon, June 17.
The 5,000 square foot facility houses the mayor's office, the clerk's office, water and sewer department, police department, city museum, a meeting room and a conference room.
Mayor Jerry Bowman said the county helped in the construction of the new building.
"The county removed the old remains of the courthouse and took it to a landfill in Jonesboro. They hauled about 70 loads of dirt to level the ground and gave us a new drive-through window for the water department," Bowman said.
The new city hall is located on Court Street.
