Maxine Elois Cox - Manila

Maxine Elois Cox, 72, of Manila died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at the home of her daughter in Gosnell. Born at Ripley, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Dolphus and Dovie Maurvey Smith. She had been a longtime Blytheville resident before making her home in Manila in 1988. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, James Cox of Manila; five daughters, Melba Norman of Griffith, Ind., May McCullough of Gosnell, Jessie Mosley of Kennett, Mo., Shae Walker of Highland, Ind., and Kimberly Cox of Blytheville; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Union Hill Cemetery in Poolville, Miss., under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family will receive visitors Tuesday evening from 6-8:30 at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila.
