P.E.O. continues to donate

Members of the P.E.O. Chapter AC are once again showing support for local initiatives by continuing to donate funds to the Mississippi County Community College foundation/Big Lake Scholarship Golf Tournament. The Tournament, sponsored by the Mississippi County Community College, First National Bank, Heritage Bank, MidSouth bank, Southbank, and Farmers Market, was established four years ago to provide scholarship funds to MCCC students from the Buffalo Island and Bootheel of Missouri areas.

"The Leachville P.E.O. chapter was the very first to donate to this fund-raising event in our first year, and they've continued to be very supportive of this worthwhile cause," Rachel Gifford, MCCC Director of Development, said. "We are very grateful for their kind support and are proud to be helping students in this area. Without the support of P.E.O. chapter AC and others like them, this tournament would not be the success that it is."

Gifford met with three members of P.E.O. at the Big Lake Country Club on Monday, April 22, where she was presented a check for $150 for a diamond tee box sponsorship at this year's tournament.

P.E.O. is a philanthropic and educational organization interested in increased opportunities for higher education.

The tournament, a three-person scramble, is scheduled for Monday, May 20, and is open to all. For more information about this tournament contact Gifford at (870) 838-2901.
