Cleo Fires - Rivervale

Cleo Fires, 85, of Rivervale died Saturday, April 27, 2002. She was a homemaker and a member of Rivervale Baptist Church.

Survivors include nine sons, Buckie O'Neal Fire, Larry Wayne Fire, Jackie Lynn Fires and Teddy Marine Fires, all of Rivervale, William Henry "Jinks" Fires and Herman Lester "Mannie" Fires, both of Hot Springs, Roger clay Fires of Lepanto, Edgar Monroe "Pedro" Fires of Island Lake, Ill., and Earlie Stancil "Brother" Fires of Palatine, Ill.; two daughters, Alma Lee "Sister" Smith of Caraway and Melinda Ann Johnson of Hot Springs; a sister, Hilda Rice of Corning; a brother, Frankie D. Clay of Russellville, Ala.; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earlie Edgar Fires, a daughter, two brothers and five sisters.

The funeral was held Tuesday at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Tacker and Jess Hodges officiating. Burial was in Potter Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were her grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers were her granddaughters.
