Errors prove costly for Manila

Manila led Gosnell for two and a half innings but errors proved costly for the Lions in the 3rd and 4th innings allowing the Pirates to take a 16 - 6 win on Wednesday. Manila led 3 -1 going into the bottom of the 3rd before Gosnell scored six runs in the third and fourth to push their lead to 14 - 6 in the bottom of the fourth. Juan Moyeda picked up a double and a single with three RBIs to lead the Lions. John Hicks followed with two base hits. Scott Townsend and Josh Morris each had a single with an RBI and Adam Donner picked up a double. Noah Shelton, Matt Noble, Casey Hill, and Josh McDaniel all had singles in the matchup.

Manila's John Hicks got the win from the mound with Scott Townsend picking up the save in the Lions 13 - 9 win over Marked Tree Tuesday. After going scoreless in the first Manila scored in every other inning to get the victory. Juan Moyeda went 4 for 4 with two RBIs to lead Manila from the plate. Hicks went 3 for 4 with a triple in the second and an RBI. Matt Noble three singles would score and RBI and Casey Hill's two singles scored one. Noah Shelton had two singles; Adam Donner's double scored two; and a triple by Justin Hill scored one in the win.

Hitting for the Warriors were: Fortenberry - double, single, RBI; McDaniel - double, single; Hutcheson - single, RBI; Palmer - double; Saddler - single; Smith - RBI; Tyler - double, 2 RBI.
