Buffalo Island girls rip EPC

LEPANTO - A game in which started well defensively for both teams suddenly had an offensive eruption during the third inning.

During the top half of the third inning, the Lady Mustangs' bats started lighting up and couldn't be contained. Buffalo Island batted around three times, sending 27 players to the plate and that was all she wrote for the Lady Warriors. Morgan Milligan and Leslie Cobb each had six RBI's during the inning.

Lauren Dowless and Rachel Dunigan each had two doubles in the huge inning.

Starting pitcher Asley Matheny tossed a perfect game to lead the Buffalo Island defense. Each out was recorded by flyout or strikeout.

The Lady Mustangs outfield -- Jamie Lamar, Milligan, Jessica Smithee and Dowless recorded all of the outs for the defense.

"It was a total team effort on the part of our huge inning," said Buffalo Island Coach Mike Kinard. "We have a lot of talent and our hits just found the openings today."
