Hershel Hatch - Lake City

Hershel Hatch, 74, of Lake City died Friday, April 12, 2002, at the Regional Medical Center of Northeast Arkansas.

A native of Kennett, he was formerly of Monette and a member of the Refuge Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer, a World War II veteran, and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Hatch of the home; a daughter, Vickie White of Jonesboro; three sons, Mike Hatch of Monette, Tom Hatch of Black Oak and Paul Hatch of McCrory; a brother, Carl Hatch of McKinney, Texas; a sister, Mildred McDaniel of Lake City; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Refuge Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Ward officiating. Burial and Masonic rites were held at the Monette Cemetery with arrangements by Emerson Funeral Home of Lake City.

Active pallbearers were Ronnie Qualls, Cade Evan, Bill Roland, Scotty Roland, Wyeth Spikes, Joe Henderson and Bill Hart.

Honorary pallbearers were the men of Refuge Baptist Church.
