Eddie Wayne Grooms - Joshua, Texas

Eddie Wayne Grooms, 39, of Joshua, Texas, died March 26, 2002, at Baylor All Saints Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas. Born at Selfridge AFB, Mich., he had spent most of his life in the Paragould area. He was a 1981 graduate of Greene County Tech in Paragould and was featured as the 1972 theme child for cerebral palsy foundation. He had been a Joshua resident for the past five years and was a member of the Hill of God Church in Joshua.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Norma and Mike Kunza of Joshua, Texas; his father and stepmother, Larry and Virginia Grooms of Paragould; his grandparents, Elman and Vada Grooms of Leachville; a brother, Chris Grooms of Paragould, a step-brother, Bryan Fuller of Marmaduke; three step-sisters, Debra Mosena of Stillwater, Okla., Regina Carter of Kellyville, Okla., and Pam Bevill of St. Louis, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clyde Hudson and Vernice Hudson Barnes.

The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Greg Hopkins, Danny Hoskins, Jeff Burcham, Jim Pruett, John Pruett and Tim Hudson.
