Winford Harding Ward - Monette

Winford Harding Ward, 80, of Monette, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was retired from American Greetings, a member of the Caraway First Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and had lived in the Monette area most of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Enuafaye Ward of the home; a brother, Craig Ward of Jonesboro, a son, Keith Ward of Hernando, Miss., a daughter Pamela Deatherage of Harrisburg; a grandson, Jason Ward; a granddaughter, Sara Ward.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Beulah Ward; three brothers, Barrett Ward, George C. Ward, and Ted Ward, and a sister, Mary West.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Dr. Winfred Bridges and Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Sam Bridges, Mike Bridges, Marshall Border, David Ward, Bill Riley and Michael Mangrum.

Honorary pallbearers were Aubrey Walker, Burnell Young, Lloyd Wycoff, Robert Anderson, Joe South, Jack Fincher, and David Sheppard.
