Preston Lee Tate - West Memphis

Preston Tate, 51, of West Memphis, formerly of Manila and Leachville, died March 20, 2002. He was a security officer. He was a basketball star in college and an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Tate of West Memphis; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Morgan of West Memphis and a stepson Todd Gatewood of Draper, Utah; his mother, Linda Harmon Tate of Leachville and two brothers, Bobby Tate and Randy Tate, both of Leachville; and four grandchildren.

There was a "Special Remembrance Gathering" for family, friends and classmates on Friday night at the Leachville Community Center and Memorial service at the Leachville Church of Christ on Friday evening. Bartlett Funeral Home - Stage/Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
