Skip Layne was recently promoted to Area Operations Manager
for CenturyTel's Mountain Home district, according to Marion Scott, general
manager for CenturyTel operations in Arkansas.
"Skip has been in the telephone business for 30 years," said Scott. "We are
excited that he will be leading our group in Northern and North Eastern
Arkansas."
He will be responsible for CenturyTel's service areas in Baxter, Marion,
Fulton, Izard, Stone, Sharp, Randolph, Lawrence, Clay, Greene, Craighead,
Poinsett, and Mississippi counties.
Layne began his career on a line crew and has held several positions
including cable splicer, installer, repairman and most recently area plant
supervisor. His office will be in Monette, Ark.
Layne volunteers his time to the Monette Volunteer Fire Department and the
Craighead County Regional Solid Waste Management District. He is also
involved in Leadership Buffalo Island. Layne and his wife, Marla, reside in
Monette, Ark. They have two grown children, Chip Layne of Mammoth Spring
and Crystal Layne of Monette, and two grandchildren.
