Manila picks up 11-1 win

Manila kicked off the 2002 baseball season with a 11-1 win over Armorel. Sophomore James King picked up the pitching win for the Lions. Manila scored five runs in the first; one run in the third and one in the fourth; and scored four in the sixth.

Juan Moyeda scored two RBI's on three base hits and Adam Donner scored two RBI's on two base hits. John Hicks and Scott Townsend picked up two hits each with two RBI's. Casey Hill scored a RBI off a base hit. Noah Shelton, Matt Noble, and James King picked up a base hit each.

The Lions fell to BIC, 201 on Wednesday. Senior Mustang Ryan Wallace got the win on the mound. BIC scored on an error and a RBI by Shaun Fleming. Manila's run came in the seventh on a home run by freshman Josh McDaniel.

Hitting for BIC were Justin Hawkins, two base hits; P. Despain base hit; Brett Sexton base hit and Brandon Ballard-base hit.

Along with McDaniel's homer for Manila, Noah Shelton, Juan Moyeda, and John Hicks all picked up a base hit.
