Opal L. Irwin - Paragould

Opal L. Irwin, 78, of Paragould died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Arkansas Mehtodist Medical center. Born in Lake City, she was retired from Emerson Electric, she also had worked for the Brookland School District. She had lived in Paragould for six years having moved there from the Lester Community, and was a member of the Southside Community Church.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas "Buddy" Irwin of Paragould and Dewayne "Muscles" Irwin of Lake City; a daughter, Bonnie Yow of Paragould; two sister, Katherine Hyde and Freda Yow, both of Paragould; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Irwin, three sons, and a daughter.

The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home with Leon Harvey and Britt Freeman officiating. Burial was at Pine Log Cemetery.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers were men of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
