Velma Mae Cullum - Monette

Velma Mae Cullum, 94, of Monette died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was a homemaker, member of the Monette Assembly of God Church, and had lived in the Monette area most of her life.

She is survived by three sons, Herbert D. Cullum Jr. of Monette, Noble Cullum of Monette and Randel Cullum of Ash Flat; three daughters, Wanda Zelko of Watervliet, Mich., Beulah Alberda of Monette and Jean Liebach of Eldon; two sisters, Trula Tyler and Mable Sharp of Lake Wells, Fla.; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Dearl Cullum; her parents, Albert and Eugenia Sharp; a son, Gail S. Cullum of Monette; a grandson, Gary Alvin Liebsch; a granddaughter, Sandra Alberda; a great-grandson, Allen Michael Alberda; three sisters and five brothers.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Monette Assembly of God Church with Rev. Terry Miller and Rev. Arthur Phelps officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Active pallbearers were Wayland McClelland, Les Williams, Dean Sparkman, Joey Barnes, George Edd Holland and Jerry Read. Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd Bibb, Bobby Bibb, and the Men's Sunday School Class of the Monette Assembly of God Church.
