Virginia Dare Hutchison Burris - Jonesboro

Virginia Dare Hutchison Burris, 82, of Jonesboro, died Monday, March 4, 2002, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City. Born in Portia, she had lived most of her life in Craighead County. She was a homemaker and had been a Sunday School teacher at Egypt Baptist Church and Central Baptist Church where she was also a member.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Burris of Lake City; three sons, Doug Burris of Austin, Texas, Dennis Burris of Dallas, Texas, and Darrell Burris of Georgetown, Texas; a daughter, Janet Trevathan of Jonesboro; a sister, Rosemary Hutchison Smith of Joensboro; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Friday in Philadelphia Cemetery with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Central Baptist Church or the Children's Home of Paragould.
