Edythe Virginia Jarrell - Manila

Edythe Virginia Jarrell, 77, of Manila, widow of Clint Jarrell, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Manila Nursing Center. Born at Sardis, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Cullen and Alice Towles. She was a 1942 graduate of Manila High School and had lived much of her life in California. Following her retirement as a bookkeeper, she returned six years ago to make her home in Manila and renew her membership at Manila First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Jim Studebaker of El Dorado Hills, Calif.; two daughters, Vicki Osburn of Castro Valley, Calif., and Alice Ann White of Sparks, Nev.; two sisters, Martha Hill and Emily Mangrum, both of Batesville, Miss.; three grandchildren, Frank Studebaker, Tony Studebaker and Diana Osburn.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Manila with pastor, Rev. Michael Winberry officiating. He was assisted by Mrs. Jarrell's longtime friend, Martha Wagner, who will deliver the eulogy. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.

Active pallbearers were Tommy Towles, Kenny Bourland, Paul Jack Wagner, Tony Crowell, Michael Wagner and Allen McCullough. Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Farmer, Casey Wells, Bill Crowell, Clarence Shockley, Harry Parks, R.J. Bennett, Athel Parker,Jack Wagner, Monte Grimes and Glen Horner.
