Hammond named among top volunteers
Arkansas state representative Bill Gipson recognized BIC student Casey Hammond, as a state finalist for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award, during a special ceremony on Sunday, February 17, at the American Legion, in Monette.
"Casey has been selected as one of Arkansas' top student volunteers in the seventh annual Prudental Spirit of Community program," Gipson said. "This is a nationwide program to recognize young people for their outstanding community service. Casey will also receive an engraved bronze Distinguished Finalist medallion commemorating the honor."
Gipson presented Hammond with a large framed certificate denoting her award. The National Association of Secondary School Principals and Prudential Financial provide well-deserved recognition to young people across the nation annually.
"Casey is an exceptional young lady and is well known for her efforts to raise money and provide support for St. Jude Hospital, in Memphis," Gipson said. "She is active in her community as well, as an officer in the Monette Buffalo Island 4-H Club. "This is quite an honor for any young person," Gipson said. "I am very pleased to have her and her family living in my legislative district."
