Arlee Home Fashions to close

Friday, January 18, 2002

Pursuant to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), Louis Smithey, General Manager for Arlee Home Fashions, has notified employees of the company's decision to close the Leachville manufacturing facility effective March 2. Forty-five employees will be affected by the planned closure.

Mr. Smithey said the company is working closely with several state agencies in order to provide access to information on benefits for dislocated workers.

Arlee Home Fashions opened its doors in the Leachville business district in March of 1986. The company is located at the site of the former Brown Shoe Company on Pillow Street, just off Highway 77 East. Arlee manufactures decorative pillows of all varieties.
