Manila improves to 14-5 Overall

Manila improved to 14-5 overall with a 78-53 pounding of Bay Tuesday night. The Lions opened up the game in the second after a 15-15 tie ended the first quarter. Manila outscored Bay 27-16 in the second to take a 42-31 halftime lead. The Lions pushed their lead to 61-41 in the third before taking the win in the fourth.

Junior Nate Morries was hot from the three-point line again knocking down eight treys to lead the Lions with 26 points. Jacob Walker's five treys gave him 19 on the night. Others scoring in the match-up were Michael Tomblin eight; Mitchell Gammill eight; Josh McCullough seven; Ken Seyler five; Adam Donner four; and Daniel Warren one.

Junior High

The Junior Lions improved to 14-4 overall with a 43-25 win over the junior Yellowjackets. Manila trailed Bay 10-9 in the first but a 9-5 second quarter gave the Lions an 18-15 lead at the half. Manila pushed their lead to 33-20 in the third allowing Bay only five points in the third and then again in the fourth for the win.

Matt Noble led MJHS with 17 points followed by Boo Grayson with 10. Others scoring in the victory were: Anthony Lancaster six; Jordan Wise five; Jackey Parker two; Josh McDaniel two; and Derrick Wright one.
