Manila Lady Lions fall to Valley View

The Lady Lions fell to 8-9 overall and 2-2 in conference play Thursday with a 62-46 loss to the Lady Blazers. Valley View led 15-9 in the first but Manila fought back in the second to trail by three 30-27. VV outscored Manila by seven points to take a 10 point third quarter lead before cruising on for the win.

Natalie Tippy led MHS with 17 points followed by 16 from Christina Lester. Others scoring in the match-up were Michelle Eubanks four, Marilou Perez three, Kacie Oates two, Ashley Girdley two and Pam Tyler two.

Junior High

The junior Lady Lions fell to a 3-1 conference record with a 35-22 loss to Valley View. VV led Manila 12-4 in the first and 18-9 at the half. The Lady Lions could not pull any closer than seven in the third before flaling in the fourth.

KC Chipman led MJHS with seven followed by six from Deborah White, five from Holly McGuire and four from Amanda Henson.

Manila defeats Trumann

Manila defeated Trumann Monday night 48-36. The Lady Lions led 14-12 in the first and 27-18 at the half.

The Lady Lions pushed their advantage to 38-29 in the third taking the win.

Christina Lester led MHS with 15 followed by 14 from Marilou Perez and 10 from Natalie Tippy. Kacie Oates scored five and Michelle Eubanks had four in the win.

Rebecca Miller had 15 for the Lady Wildcats.
