Darrell Elmer Meares Sr. - Cardwell

Darrell Elmer Meares Sr., 55, of Cardwell died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at his residence. Born in Paragould he was a farm hand and was of the Pentecostal belief.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Box Meares of Cardwell; two sons, Tony Meares and Darrell Meares Jr., both of Paragould; a daughter, Flora Meares of Cardwell; two sisters, Alberta Bateman of Paragould and Faye Carroll of Champaign, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Darrell Elmer Meares III of Paragould, Pamela Maria Meares of Paragould, and Alycia Nicole Meares and Sonya Jo Meares, both of Cardwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bivian Hill Mears.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Heath Fuenral Home Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Benny Isom and Ken Box officiating. Burial was in New Friendship Cemetery at Paragould.
