Evelyn Chambers - Mississippi

Evelyn Chambers, 83, of Olive Branch, Miss., died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Lake City, she was a homemaker and a member of Black Oak Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Stan Chambers of Olive Branch, Jim Chambers of Brookhaven, Miss., and Terry Chambers of Fort Worth, Texas; four daughters, Reva Guin of Lepanto, Pat Mote of Benton, Barbara Cullum of Germantown, Tenn., and Donna Harig of Olive Branch; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Opie Chambers, a daughter and a grandson.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Langford's Funeral Service in Jonesboro with the Rev. J.W. Gibbs officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

The family requests that anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Black Oak Baptist Church.
