Cora M. Griffin - Manila

Cora M. Griffin, 96, of Manila, widow of Edward Lee Griffin, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, at Manila Nursing Center. Born at Hornersville, she was the daughter of the late Jackson and Omega Miller and had been a Manila resident since 1917. She was a member of Manila First Baptist Church and retired sales clerk.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Virgil and Claude Miller.

Survivors include a son, Darrell Griffin of Manila; a daughter, Margaret Caery of Manila; five grandchildren, Derrick Griffin, John Ed Griffin, Deborah Bowes, Rebecca Lappin and Susan Croce, and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Howard Funeral Service chapel in Manila, Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.
