Ruth Spillman, 70, of Lake City died Thursday morning, Sept. 20, 2001, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. A native and lifelong resident of the Lake City area, she was a retired employee of Lincoln Manufacturing of Jonesboro. She was of the Baptist belief and was preceded in death last year by a son, Rickey Spillman.
Survivors include a daughter, Carletta Bowers of Lake City; a son, Jim Spillman of Lake City; two sisters, Louise Farnsworth of Bald Knob and Dorothy Garrett of Brookland; a brother, Gene England of Bay; three grandchildren, Monica Shelton, Erica McClung and Jared Bowers; and two great-grandchildren, Grant Shelton and Madison McClung.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lake City Cemetery with Bill Strickland officiating.
Active pallbearers included Jared Bowers, James Shelton, Todd McClung, Dwight England, Donnie England and Lee Farnsworth.
