Homer A. Hickman - Black Oak

Homer A. Hickman, 79, of Black Oak died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at the Monette Manor. He was an installer of water wells and was retired from the trucking business. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Black Oak.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita "Short" Hickman of the home; a son, Tony Hickman of Jonesboro; a daughter, Ginger Adams of Jonesboro; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the First Baptist Church in Black Oak, with the Rev. J.W. Gibbs and the Rev. L.B. Atchison officiating. Burial will be in the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Lake City.

Active pallbearers will be Pete Williams, Jim Ladd, Ted Qualls, Kenny Vaughn, Ronnie Qualls and Dewaine Malone.

Honorary pallbearers will include C.J. Mangrum, J.D. Coleman, Leon Golden, Noble Dunkerson, Ray Goodson, George Emery, Donald Rodgers, Jim Vaughn, Jerry Qualls, Chub Qualls and Charles Hale.
