Raymond Craine - Jacksonville

Raymond T. Craine, 76, of Jacksonville, formerly of the Lost Cane Community near Manila, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at his residence in Jacksonville. Born at the Half Moon Community, he was the son of the late George and Lillie Craine. He was a retired farmer and machinist with Textron Company of Blytheville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as Seaman First Class on the USS Abbott from 1943 until 1945. He was a member of the Little River Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorene Craine of the home; two sons, Jerry Craine of Blytheville and Ronnie Craine of Manila; two daughters, Gail Peacock of Jacksonville and Judy Beshears of Plano, Texas; two brothers, Joe Craine of Festus, Mo., and Leroy Craine of Little Elm, Texas; a sister, Ruth Mann of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
