Syrilda Isabel DeMent - Cardwell

Syrilda Isabel DeMent, 100, a longtime resident of Cardwell, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Upland Rehab and Care Center in Upland, Calif. She was born in the former city of Nettleton, and was a homemaker, seamstress and floral arranger.

Survivors include a son, Chancey Lee DeMent of Norwalk, Calif.; a daughter, Verla Quoss of Fontana, Calif.; a brother, Estel Barrett of Sturgeon, Mo.; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Calvary Full Gospel Church at Cardwell with the Revs. Leland DeMent and Zane DeMent officiating. Burial was in the Cardwell Cemetery under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Paragould.

Pallbearers were Harold Barrett, Clovis DeMent, Rev. Zane DeMent, Ross Ford, Norman Jameson and Charles Williams.
