Edward Alexander Ashmore, 75, of Caraway, died Monday, June 4, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist. He had lived in Caraway most of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Ashmore of the home; three daughters, Nancy McLearen and Jane Bice, both of Caraway, and Lesia Hopper of Warsaw, Ky.; a brother, Billy Ashmore of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Helen Hensley of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Devonna Renee Ashmore.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial was in the Caraway Cemetery with Gregg Funeral Home of Monette in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Lawrence Hopper, Jason Bice, Jason Lowery, Brent Bernard, Zack Green and Dean Story. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Baugh and Jason Lunsford.
