Pearl May DeFries, 79, of Lake City, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was a homemaker, member of Lake City First Baptist Church and had lived in Lake City most of her life.
She is survived by four sons, Mack DeFries of Lake City, Danny Layne DeFries of Mt. Vernon, Ark., Donnie Lynn DeFries of Caraway and Rector Junior DeFries of Lake Cormorant, Miss.; three daughters, Susan Wallace of Lake City, Diann Chisenhall of Pensacola, Fla., and Shelia Joan Culbreath of Cold Water, Miss.; two sisters, Alice Butler of Hoxie and Earlene Blankenship of Little Rock; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rector Lytle DeFries, and a son, Robin Stanley DeFries.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Macey Cemetery with Rev. Captain Lovell officiating. Gregg Funeral Home of Monette was in charge of arrangements.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
