Wendell Hurley - Manila

Wendell Hurley, 57, of Manila died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born March 23, 1944, at Manila, he was the son of the late Charles and Effira Carpenter Hurley. He was a lifelong Manila area resident, a retired cotton ginner and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ronda, and a son, Wendell Ron Hurley.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Newton Hurley of the home; a son, Brian Hurley of Manila; a brother, Buddy Hurley of Manila, and three sisters, Wanda Estus and Monteen Moyer, both of Manila, and Lorene Armfield of Oak Grove, La.

Services will be 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila, Rev. Waymon Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.
