Area teachers retire

Eddie Dunigan, longtime educator at Buffalo Island Central High School, was greeted by friends and family at a reception in his honor.

Cindy Crawford received a framed citation from the Arkansas House of Representatives in honor of her retirement. She was the junior high and east elementry librarian at BIC.

A special cake made in honor of Cindy Crawford and Reba Donner and was served at the junior high reception held for the two retirees.

Cindy Crawford spent 23 years in education. Before becoming a teacher, she worked as a registered nurse.

Debbie Olive shared memories of the years she worked with Ms. Crawford and Ms. Donner.

Friends stopped by to wish Mrs. Donner well in her retirement. She served as secretary for Leachville/ BIC for 47 years.

Georgia Beach and family enjoys a luncheon in honor of the retiring teachers at Manila Elementary. Mrs. Beach has spent 45-1/2 years teaching.

Bertha Brooks, custodian, was honored for her years of service to the Manila School District.

Donna Trammel retired from Manila Elementary and was happy to have her family home for the occasion.

Nita Bridges, high school art teacher at Manila, has 37 total years with 31 of them being at MHS.

Superintendent Pam Castor said she and Nita (Bridges) have worked togehter for a long time. She presented her a plaque for her 31 years of service to Manila School District.
