OHH, “What is it?” the children might ask, encountering something strange and unknown. That happened to the Hebrew children more than a few thousand years ago when they left the fleshpots of Egypt for a barren wilderness trek to the Promise Land. And a daily miracle of angel’s food fell from Heaven to Earth to feed them: Manna. “Manna” is a Hebrew word meaning, “What is it?”
God caused this supernatural feeding of millions of people to go on for 40 years, despite His unhappiness with their grumbling, complaining and idolatries. Today God is still feeding us with “hidden manna” – despite all our wicked ways. This often overlooked and spurned Source of supernatural, spiritual nourishment is God’s Word.
