Do you believe God resurrected Jesus to save us from sin and empowers us through the Holy Spirit to meet every challenge in our lives, homes, families and community? Well, devils know that is true, too, and work tirelessly to thwart believers acting upon faith. We collectively delay unity around Christ, individually declining to be constantly revived by Spirit and Word, failing to responsibly apply Truth for God’s, ours and others’ benefits. Such shortcomings forfeit blessings and we pay high spiritual and material prices for going our own ways.
Strongholds of thought and fact cripple our town, its youth and our vitality. Lusts of the flesh and eyes, along with the selfish pride of life, are common challenges for all people. And God loves us, warts and all. Jesus knows every thought and motive of our hearts. Still, love unconditionally applies, awaiting acceptance. Such acceptance leads to relationship that leads to friendship, where each wants to follow and assist the other. God wants us to read the Book and follow directions. Jesus prays for all believers’ unity...prayed it for us in 2018 as recorded in John 17...so as to facilitate revival for His body and promote belief everywhere unity reigns.
But if unity does not reign, confusion and controversy reigns instead. Then, who’s in charge? Let’s self-diagnose our world for a moment here, please. Confrontation, confusion and controversy is everywhere. That means strongholds over thought and action are crippling us. There is a prescription for this condition. God’s people, believers, the church must make the difference. According to II Chronicles 7:14, we each need to repent, humble ourselves, turn from our wicked ways, pray and seek God’s face so God will hear our prayer and heal our land. Do you want strongholds -- like alcohol and drug abuse that cripple our youths, adults, families and community -- broken off the people and places you love? There is a Way.
