Jesus and His Spirit make a way, where there seems none. Jesus prayed for Manila’s believers’ unity in John 17, defining Truth as God’s Word. Truth frees us. The Living Word is Jesus, who is the Way, Truth, and Life. God can free us from addictions to self, sin, and everything that binds us. Town Crier readers and listeners, here is how.
Respond to God’s invitation to “Come” meet, know, and confess Truth. Change for the best from the inside out. Good relations will align around Truth. Get into the Word and into a Bible-based church to let go and grow! You’ll be eternally glad for positively responding to the call to “Come” know God’s Love, Truth, and Grace that Christ offers.
People argue endlessly, wanting only their own ways. When Pilate asked God’s Son’s identity, Christ answered as Truth’s message bearer. Pilate retorted in John 18:38, “What IS truth?” That question echoes ever since (and before) the Roman prefect blurted it.
Then – like us too often – Pilate tried to wash his hands of the responsibility to properly decide about Jesus. The ruler gave in to sin, self, and pride – letting a mob mentality of worldly chaos and confusing thoughts make the unjust decision, “Crucify Him!” That was just injustice. Despite knowing right from wrong, a powerful leader let others override his belief in the Lord – or at least Jesus’ innocence of the trumped up charges.
Still, we are right there with Pilate and the crowd on this question of dealing with Truth. God will help us crucify self and sin if we accept the Truth Jesus offers. Otherwise, we think we are in control, but we are wrong...mobs less than Truth rule our life. Together we crucify Christ’s proposal again and again. Acknowledging our unworthiness, now is the time to accept God’s best and final offer to redeem us from sin-death through Jesus.
Once you and I have a relationship with Truth, we will finally be free, enabled to live God’s eternal blessings for us forever. Jesus finalizes our adoption as God’s children upon consent and confession. “Just as I am” and like a child accept Christ. Grow on from there. We cannot earn this Love that always calls. Truth invites and, personally accepted, welcomes YOU and me into God’s united eternal family. So, just now let Truth justly reign here on Earth and throughout Buffalo Islanders’ united hearts and lives, as in Heaven, forever and ever.
