There are many different types of abuse: spousal, child, elderly, verbal, physical, emotional. There is one that we do not recognize, or I believe we think very little of or even consider it abuse, that is what I want us to look at and that is Saviour abuse, abusing our liberty and freedom as Christians. Yes we believe in the security of the believer but never, not once in the bible, does God give us a license to sin. How many times do we abuse the cross of Calvary in our daily Christian walk because we say to ourselves God has forgiven me; he understands.
The blessings and privileges that believers have in Christ are bountiful. However, with our privileges come two more vital concepts: ‘strength’ (ability) and ‘accountability’ (responsibility).
(1) Our blessings and privileges mean the ability, by the power of God bestowed in those blessings, to be different from the world as believers in Christ. We can live victoriously over sin and the self-life. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Ephesians 1:3.
(2) But they also mean the responsibility to do so, not in our own strength, of course, but through the ability God gives us through the Savior. That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10.
Present day world front page: Trinity Investigations has reported that Ima Christian has been accused of Saviour abuse.
Ima Christian as been accused of keeping Jesus Christ locked behind the covers of one dust covered Bible. It is reported that Christian only allows Jesus Christ to be taken out when Christian needed his help or hard times fell upon Christian.
Trinity Investigations also gained reports from a witness the Holy Spirit that Jesus had been pushed aside while Christian pleasured in the lust of the flesh and the ways of the world for days and weeks at a time, causing great pain to Jesus Christ.
The Witness also stated that Jesus was taken out on some Sundays and occasional holidays to be paraded in front of others only to be taken back home and placed back under the stairway book closet to be placed under lock and key; while hours of unrighteous TV and porn were played around him - as well as yelling, fighting and foul language, heavy drinking of beer and strong drink leading to lies and sexual misconduct.
Further investigations reports that Ima Christian has a hardened heart. When asked about these allegations Christian denies these charges stating, “I love Jesus with all my heart. I would never do that or anything to hurt him. Jesus knows I love him.”
Conclusion: Christ suffered and died that we might have freedom from sin, that we might have eternal life. We are to walk in that light, we are not to abuse the precious blood of Jesus. Let us walk accordingly.
