I Corinthians 4:14
14: I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. ([KJV])
As a young boy living right outside of Manila on Highway 18, my dad put up a storm cellar on the other side of our half acre. Mom's clothesline was in the pathway of the cellar, but we knew to duck when going to the cellar or go around it.
One night some of mom and dad's friends were over and the weather got bad, TV 8 issued a tornado warning. Dad and Bill walked outside, a few seconds later Dad yelled for us to go to the cellar. We all took off running to the cellar, Bill was a tall guy and of course when we came to the clothesline we all ducked. Bill with no warning got "clotheslined" and landed flat on his back because he wasn't watching and none of us warned him.
Mature Christians teach those who are babes in Christ. It is our calling to make sure that we feed and care for the weak, not just physically but spiritually as well. Satan would love to get hold of a new born Christian just as a wolf keeps his eye on the youngest and weakest of the sheep in the flock.
Young Christian, listen to the word of God and those who love you enough to guide you in paths of righteousness. Many of us have been down that same road, we know what and where the pitfalls are (we have the scars). Satan wants to clothesline us so we will fall flat on our backs.
Let us be watching and warning.
