John 15:11: These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
Jesus gave us a precious gift by laying down his life for us, but he also wants us to have his joy. Not the joy of the world, but his joy. It is ours to carry through this world and keep us at peace in our hearts.
Remember as a kid playing on the playground at school? Excited about recess, we looked forward to getting out and playing with our friends. Often times there was a bully on the playground that tried to steal that joy from us.
Satan is the Christian's bully on the playground. He confronts us and we just hand our joy over.
How can we keep Satan from stealing our joy?
Make a stand.
Walk and seek the things of the spirit, good Christian friends and the Word of God.
Philippians 1: 25-28:
25 -- And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;
26 -- That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.
27 -- Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
28 -- And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
The next time Satan confronts you remember, greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
