There's a fine line in my thinking about the reliability of the Bible. What I mean is, for me, the Bible is God breathed down through the pen in a man's hand, then laboriously translated from Hebrew and Greek into English so I could read it.
OR, the Bible is a book of lies, because 'it' claims to be authored by God.
The central theme of the Bible is this, Jesus is coming, Jesus came. Jesus is coming again...
The Bible is divided in two parts. Part 1 is the Old Testament and part 2 is the the New Testament.
Testament is most readily understood as a legal term like 'last will and testament'. So you could say that the Bible is a copy of God's will for mankind.
If I decide to reject the Bible, a copy of God's will or desire for my life, then perhaps I will never find God or His plan.
The Bible records that Jesus preached from the Old Testament constantly during his three and a half years of public ministry. So that means Jesus trusted the reliability of the Bible.
The Bible consists of 66 books, which cover a time span of approximately 4000 years. It lists of names, dates, and family genealogy from Adam to Jesus.
If I testify in court, it is my testimony of witness or evidence of the facts. I testify to the fact that God is the author of the Bible, and that He has revealed Himself to me in the Person of His Son Jesus and the Person of The Holy Spirit. He has revealed Himself to me through the actions of miracles, healings, and gifts of the Holy Spirit.
For over 30 years I have challenged believers to read the Bible and let God reveal Himself through His Word, and I've heard hundreds of testimonies that He did. I hope you're the next one.
He that hath ears to hear let him hear.
