As an 18 year old with a fresh commitment to walk with Jesus, I now devoured the Bible like a starving man. I noticed a pattern in the church I was attending. For example, 'The Great Commission' scripture was always quoted from Mathew 28:19: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
And, if someone was really reaching out there for more they read Matthew 19:26 ... but with God all things are possible.
I also noticed I Corinthians was preached like this: Chapter 11: The Lords Supper, Chapter 13: The Love Chapter, Chapter15: The Resurrection chapter.
So Duke, what's wrong with that? Nothing, except, is it just me or did anyone else notice the 12th and 14th chapters were skipped over? ... So Duke, what's your point?
The point is: Romans 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. My denomination didn't preach those chapters, so we had no faith to receive the things mentioned in those chapters. For those of you who think this is no big deal, just read the first verse of Chapter 12... 1 Corinthians 12: 1 Now concerning spiritual [gifts], brethren, I would not have you ignorant. So you see, God doesn't want us to be ignorant of spiritual things. So prayerfully read ALL the chapters, and let the Holy Spirit take you beyond the boundaries of denominational ignorance.
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
