We had just a little rain but I suppose a little is better than none at all.
Our grass was turning yellow but the rain we received has given it new life and it is green again.
As I drive through the countryside and see the irrigation systems going full blast, I wonder how my dad and his dad ever made a crop in the old days.
We can't control the weather but the farmers do have an advantage today since they can water when needed. I am sure it has kept them very busy this year.
We are way into July and school children can start counting the days until they will be back in school. The school bell will start ringing before we know it. I would venture a guess half of the students are bored and ready to go back and the other half wouldn't mind if they had another month.
I realized it was getting close when I walked into the store and saw the school supplies on sale.
Getting school supplies was a fun thing when my children were in grade school. We would go shopping and purchase enough paper and pencils for the year all at once. They would search until they found the backpacks and notebooks they wanted. Now they are shopping with their own children. I hope they enjoy it as much as I did when they were young.
