April 15 has come and gonePosted Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 10:40 AM
We just passed another income tax date and hopefully everyone made the April 15 deadline. Usually the Post Offices stay open late giving people extra time to get it in but this year they did not.
We have always filed on time but we just do a simple, short form so it is not difficult. I know taxes can get get complicated and extensions sometimes have to be requested.
It is behind us now so we can move on and either spend our refund or complain about having to pay more.
I don't think any of us like taxes but without taxes we would not have highways to drive on, Social Security income, the military to protect us, or the services that benefit so many people. I think most of us see the need for taxes, we just want our leaders to stop waste and asking for more.
Filing our taxes is over for another year so we will have to worry about other things. Most of us have no shortage of things to worry about.
