I have been behind -- the last entry was wishing all Fathers a Happy Fathers' Day.
As I have said before, the time just passes by and I wonder where all of the days have gone. I can't believe 2009 is already halfway gone. It just seems like yesterday when we were all concerned about what might happen as the New Year 2000 arrived.
We have survived a heat wave in June and gone into July.
I was busy for a couple of weeks with the annual Buffalo Island Relay for Life. I have to say thank you to everyone who participated in spite of the hot weather. It is a great cause.
It cooled off a little over the Fourth of July Weekend. I enjoyed being in Caraway early for the parade and festivities and later for the rodeo and fireworks.
I hope everyone appreciates all of the work and effort it takes to put on a area-wide celebration. It doesn't just happen, people behind the scenes are working like crazy to get it all ready for the rest of us to go and enjoy. Again, I want to thank everyone who made it happen again for the 63rd consecutive year. I still remember my first Fourth of July spent in Caraway. I was about 11 years old. I enjoyed it in 1962 and I enjoyed it in 2009.
